The purrfect fence is 99.99% effective due to 20 years of research into cat containment and the use Purrfect Fence’s patented spring-loaded arm. In those situations where escapes are reported we worked with the cat parent to address the root cause of the escape 100% of the time. Often times, this is due to a mistake during installation, environmental issues such as trees, window sills next to the fence, or other common yard features assisting in the escape such as furniture.
Even so, our incredible track record is due to several factors, but most importantly to the flexible/unstable nature of the polypropylene grid, the arched top, and the chew resistant bottom that gets overlapped 6" onto the ground. For the handful of expert climbers that might be able to make it near the top of the fence, they will then be denied escape due to the effectiveness of the pivoting extender arms that turn your cat(s) back toward the ground. Having said this, installation technique is still very important because any small opening can be a potential escape route for a cat. It is important that our written and video instructions are followed.
I’ve always had outdoor cats but unfortunately my neighbor and I have both lost a cat to coyotes in past year. I was so concerned about keeping my other two cats inside for ever. This fence is perfect! I was worried it might look ugly or obtrusive but against my already installed black metal fence and shrubs, it doesn’t stand out at all. Even the top part Turing inwards looks fine. I installed only on side of house to see, but May now do the whole yard! Had it installed by my landscapers in under 4 hours. Well-built, sturdy and no cats have gotten out in over a month! Looking forward to more vegetation growth inside the pen, but otherwise it’s the perfect solution to keep your cat’s most innate instincts active and thriving! They get to use their senses, eyesight, hearing, smelling and hunt in fresh air and nature! Like nature intended. And no one can attack them ! Far better than a concrete “catio”. Thank god this product exists!
Since the gate is attached to the fence, the weight of the gate hits the ground when it is opened or closed.
The gate latch opens when it's up, so it's difficult for a cat to jump and try to open it.
Even if a cat tries to open the bottom of the gate, it is difficult for the cat to get out because it is sturdy.
This fence has changed my cats lives for the better. If I had the money, I’d fence my entire yard in with it. Love!
Relatively easy to install - 100 linear feet installed by one person in about 10 hours. Definitely goes faster with a helper.
Effective deterrent for my 6 month old kitten. He can scale the 10 foot tall section of my horizontally-slatted fence, but has not even tried to get out where the purrfect fence topper is installed. Just added the fence topper to the 10 foot sections as well.
Worth it!
The stray cats that I rescued are safe and sound in my fence!! It’s been 60 days. They were used to be roaming free on 3 acres.
My purpose for purchasing this item was actually to prevent iguanas from having the leverage on the tree, to climb high enough to eat the flowers of my plant beneath the tree. It has actually worked quite well for the larger iguanas, because they cannot get a grip on the trunk, causing a great deal of difficulty for them when climbing down from the tree. This makes them not as interested as they used to be in sitting in the tree. I would say that this item worked better than any other option that I have, so I would recommend it. If it can deter iguanas from climbing, it should surely deter cats.
