Your cat will remain in your yard safely enjoying the sunlight and fresh air.

Cat Fence Topper for Existing Fences

The system stops cats from jumping over a fence and is compatible to nearly any existing fence. Each 100’ kit of fence conversion system for cats comes with 12 spring-loaded arms, 12 arm mounting plates with screws, 100 feet of 4-ft heavy-duty black poly fence (1.75" x 1.75" grid), and 100 industrial grade zip ties.

The pivoting fence extensions are attached near the top of the inside of your fence, and the high-strength mesh material is stretched between them, attached with the included zip ties. Simply secure the lower portion of the mesh material to your fence or wall and your fence conversion system for cats is complete. If you’re looking for ways to stop a cat from jumping over a fence, Purrfect Fence’s Existing Fence Conversion System for Cats works for most 5-6 ft. or taller fences or barriers. If you have a shorter fence, consider our fence conversion system for cats for shorter fences.

Every fence is different, and there are no universally followed guidelines for post spacing, height, or materials used. Because of this, we also offer kits designed for 50 and 200 linear feet of fence. If you aren’t sure what you need, contact us! The experts at Purrfect Fence are happy to help you over the phone, by email, or through live chat.

Keep in mind that every fence is different and there are no universally followed guidelines for post spacing, height, materials used, etc. A 50ft kit is designed for the average 50 linear feet of fence. 100 ft kit is designed for an average 100 linear feet of fence. A 200 ft kit is designed for the average 200 linear feet of fence. If you have gates, turns, short or long spans between posts then you may find that you need more or less components than comes with the kit. If in doubt, contact us first!

❗ Have a fence or wall under 5 feet? Use the Conversion System for Shorter Fences to cat-proof fences and walls as short as 3' high!

The fence conversion systems for cats is built to last. All arms are galvanized steel with a black powder coat finish, the arm hardware and springs are stainless steel and the fence material is UV stabilized with carbon black and additional chemical UV inhibitors.

IMPORTANT: The fence mesh is the same 1.75" x 1.75" very strong poly material we use in our Free Standing System. - NOT a flimsy netting.

- Fasteners for holding hardware to building/home are not included. Fasteners should be chosen based on the type of material covering the building/wall/fence (wood screw, masonry screw, etc.)

-As the table above shows, a 50-foot kit comes with 50 feet of fencing material, not 60 feet.  A 150-foot kit comes with 150 feet of fencing material. It is advised that you consider ordering approximately 10% or more than you need to allow for cut pieces and minor errors in installation.

-The above table applies to orders placed after 12/26/19.

Items of note when planning your order/layout:

-Each existing fence is unique! The maximum span between arms is 12-14 feet. 8-10 Feet is preferred. Count and measure the distance between your posts to ensure that a kit will cover your fence.

- Keep in mind that our Existing Fence Conversion System will provide up to 12" inches of additional height from wherever the mounting bracket is secured. So, if the bracket is mounted at the top of a 6FT fence, then the finished Purrfect Fence height can be as tall as 7FT. This is adjustable and can be set at any height you prefer based on changing the height of the mounting bracket.

- Our patented system works by forcing your cat(s) to climb up the fence which activates the spring-loaded arm from the bottom if they are able to reach the top (most are not.) So, for maximum effectiveness, it is important that the finished height of your Purrfect Fence be tall enough so your cat cannot simply leap over it. For most domestic cats the minimum finished height (measured from the ground to the tip of the Purrfect Fence extension) we recommend is 6FT, though we prefer it to be taller when possible. Even so, we have had customers tell us it was effective for their cat(s) at shorter heights. However, higher is always better and may be necessary if your particular cat or cat breed is capable of leaping higher than the average healthy and athletic (domestic shorthair) cat.

Fasteners for holding hardware to building/home are not included. Fasteners should be chosen based on the type of material covering the building/wall/fence (wood screw, masonry screw, etc.)

-Gates in your fence line require special consideration. Read below for more information on gate planning and installation.

Gates

Gates need to be considered separately for your layout plan. Each gate in your existing fence is likely to need additional components depending on the location and operation.

Inward Swinging Gate

Many inward swinging gates require 1-2 extra arm/bracket(s) per gate. Your situation may vary. If you have questions please contact us.

Outward Swinging Gate

Many outward swinging gates require 2-3 extra arm/bracket(s) per gate. Your situation may vary. If you have questions please contact us.

Worth the investment, it works!

Relatively easy to install - 100 linear feet installed by one person in about 10 hours. Definitely goes faster with a helper.

Effective deterrent for my 6 month old kitten. He can scale the 10 foot tall section of my horizontally-slatted fence, but has not even tried to get out where the purrfect fence topper is installed. Just added the fence topper to the 10 foot sections as well.

Worth it!

It seems to be working.

The stray cats that I rescued are safe and sound in my fence!! It’s been 60 days. They were used to be roaming free on 3 acres.

My cat is so content!

My cat was a stray and got a foxtail lodged in her eye. After an emergency vet visit and her eye is now healed, I couldn't let her keep going in the field next to my yard with the foxtails. So, I installed Purrfect Fence and she's been protected and happy in my yard as an indoor/outdoor kitty!

Happy my furbabies are happy

Having a large, safe area for our 6 cats to enjoy has brought so much peace & joy to our home. Our 2 alpha females have finally called a truce after a year of trying to integrate. All six now sleep through the night after playing outside most of the day. Happy happy happy!

It worked purrfectly like I expected.

We had a cat experiencing anxiety in the house and the purrfect fence enabled the cat to calm down and enjoy the outdoors.

Finally corraled our freedom loving fur rescue . . .

We got a new rescue female from a family that was moving out of state and were not able to take the cat. She became a house until about 6 months ago when we started to let her out while on a leash. Little by little we would give her time off-leash to see what happens. Within 30 days she started jumping our 6ft fence like Superwomen on steroids. So, we first invested in a wireless control system and for a few weeks it worked really well. Then she managed to jump the fence again. I re-tested the system and turned the intensity up and that stopped her a few more days. Turns out she would jump fast enough that the pain level didn't bother her. So, back to the beginning, we ordered the Purrfect Fence system. So far, so good. While we haven't actually seen her try to jump it, we did have a stray find her way into our backyard (through a hole under the fence behind a shed) and when I tried to corral her, this cat jumped in several places but never made it out of our yard. She finally dove behind the shed and disappeared through the hole, which we filled. So far it's working and both cats can now spend hours outside and come and go as they want through our cat screen door. Thank you Purrfect Fence!

No more chasing the escapee

We have one cat of six, that is super athletic, and within two minutes of taking him out would jump the fence. He tried for about a week to get through, but finally gave up. Thank you
